Poly "Care Closet"

Tobi Jackson, Poly School Trustee, planted the seed for establishing a Poly Care Closet for students in need. Once again, your Poly Alumni Association, picked up the ball and ran with it.

As word spread among our students, we soon outgrew the original location on 3rd floor. A new Fine Arts building was built with bond money, and this opened up what previously was the Old Band Hall. Thanks to the generosity of Poly Principal, Nick Torrez, he allocated this entire space to our POLY CLOSET.

During the Summer of 2023, volunteer PAA members worked feverishly to set up all new shelving, clothes racks, and hundreds and hundreds of donated clothing items.

Thanks to our Poly Alumni and your generosity, the Poly Closet has been sustained by donations of either clothing or monetary donations.

Yearbooks

In 2016, the PAA learned that Poly had only published 2 yearbooks since 2000. PAA volunteers got busy and collaborated jointly with Poly to reintroduce yearbooks.

To help Poly get on its feet with the expense of producing and printing a yearbook, the PAA voted to cover all costs for production of the 2017 yearbook.

This reintroduction was not the flashiest or thickest yearbook, but hey...the students loved it!

2017 Cover art created by Poly student Guadalupe Gonzales, and graphic designer Kat Kroll produced the inside pages for the 2017 and 2018 yearbooks.

Thanks to the efforts of the PAA, Poly now has an ACCREDITED YEARBOOK CLASS! The 2024 yearbook is a treasure to behold with 200 all-color pages and a striking hard cover.
